00:00 [laughing] 00:01 My friends were worried about, you know 00:02 look at this guy he looks totally different than your usual. 00:05 But it was everything about his presence, his respect for me as a person, 00:09 and how he approached me. It was really old school, but I really loved it 00:13 [laughing] 00:15 I would never forgave myself if I hadn't approached her, you know. 00:18 She's my everything. 00:20 She makes me more human, more, a better person. 00:24 He let's me be me, even when society doesn't let me be me. 00:29 I grew up in a small town. 00:30 I grew up with racism, you know what I mean? 00:32 I couldn't find it in my heart to hate somebody for their color. 00:36 Me, being a black woman, dating a white guy, 00:38 I get it from black guys, from white women, 00:42 from the whole [laughing] melting pot of people just looking at what we look like on the outside. 00:50 Love is something that you feel, not that you see. 00:52 Love is stronger than what people might say. 00:57 We love each other. 00:58 Nothing else really matters. 01:00 We do love each other and nothing else matters. 01:02 [kiss] 01:03 [music]

00:00 [music] I was in a car accident. 00:02 And it was 28 years ago. 00:04 And um, after my accident 00:08 I didn't really want to have, 00:12 I didn't really want to be with another person. 00:14 Just 'cause I didn't like being like this myself, so I didn't want to involve another person. 00:18 I didn't want them to have to go through what I go through. 00:21 She was the person I was looking for, I just never realized when I met that person, 00:24 you know, that person would be in a wheelchair. 00:26 So, you know, life just happened, we don't have much control over how that happens, but 00:30 uh, it's been amazing, we just celebrated our 21st anniversary. 00:34 We have such a different life because of her disability. 00:37 But, you know, I couldn't do it if she wasn't amazing, and 00:41 I couldn't get through it if she didn't support me. 00:44 When I see Mike I see the most amazing person. 00:48 Her love gives me strength and gives me compassion, 00:52 a view on the world I wouldn't otherwise have. 00:55 [music]
